Company News:

Barratt Redrow, formed from the recent acquisition of Redrow by Barratt Developments, is optimistic about future growth as it begins integration efforts. The company aims to leverage cost synergies of at least £90m and expand sales outlets to 45 by FY28, while benefiting from a strong balance sheet and improved market conditions. This strategic move is designed to address the housing shortage and enhance shareholder returns through a robust multi-brand approach.

Lloyds Banking Group reported third quarter profits that exceeded expectations on Wednesday, and reaffirmed its performance guidance for 2024, citing increasing financial confidence among its customers.  Britain’s biggest mortgage lender reported statutory pretax profit for the July-September period of 1.8 billion pounds ($2.34 billion), narrowly down from 1.9 billion pounds a year ago but above the average analyst forecast of 1.6 billion pounds.  The lender also made no further charges relating to the motor finance review by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Fresnillo has left full-year production guidance unchanged after a solid third-quarter output performance.  Quarterly silver production totalled 14.4m ounces, down 1.5% on the second quarter but 2.4% ahead of last year, with year-to-date production up 1.2% on 2023.  Gold output was up 20.6% over the three months at 156,800 ounces, and 18.2% higher year-on-year, but year-to-date production is down 6.6%.

Reckitt Benckiser beat third-quarter like-for-like net sales growth estimates on Wednesday, helped by its health business, which makes Nurofen pain pills and Strepsils lozenges.  The company, owner of the Dettol and Lysol cleaning brands, said it was on track to meet full-year targets.
