The UK 100 called to open -140 points at 8,034. The UK 100 looks set to open sharply lower this morning as global markets continue to sell off with Japan’s Nikkei 225 closed 12.4% lower suffering its worst day since Black Monday amid fears of a US recession. Weaker than expected jobs and manufacturing figures in the US have raised concerns that the Federal Reserve have left it too late to begin cutting interest rates without damaging the economy.
Clarkson reports a H1 pretax profit of £50.1m and a H1 dividend of 32p per share.
Senior report that their H1 profit rose 10%, buoyed by demand for commercial aircraft and higher defence spending. They reported an operating profit of £25.1m, up from £22.9m YoY.
