Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +29 points at 7,493.   The UK 100 looks set to continue its strong start to the week this morning coming on the back of US markets making strong gains yesterday after soft jobs vacancy figures and a fall in consumer confidence reduced the pressure on the US central bank to increase interest rates further.  The Dow Jones was up 0.9%, the S&P up 1.5% and the Nasdaq up 1.7%.  The gains extended to Asian markets where the Nikkei 225 rose 0.4% and the Hang Seng rose 0.5%. In China, the Shanghai Composite was up 0.1%.
