Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -50 points at 8,233.  The UK 100 looks set to open lower again this morning, extending losses from yesterday afternoon, as concerns resurfaced about the potential of a recession in the US as some commentators believe the Federal Reserve may have left it too late to begin cutting interest rates, despite outlining a possible road map to cut in September.  The decline comes despite the Bank of England cutting interest rates yesterday.  The Dow Jones dropped 494.82 points, or 1.21%, to end at 40,347.97. At its session lows, the 30-stock index lost 744.22 points, or about 1.8%. The S&P shed 1.37% to end at 5,446.68, while the Nasdaq slipped 2.3% to 17,194.15.
