The UK 100 called to open +21 points at 8,207. The UK 100 looks set to start the final day of the week slightly higher as markets look to shrug off the concerns driven by the current US tech sell-off. Overnight, Asian markets continued to trade lower, this follows the worst trading session since mid-April yesterday. Asia’s broadest index barring Japanese shares fell by more than 0.5% after falling close to 1.9% the day prior, while Japan’s Nikkei held flat.
Babcock International maintains their FY25 expectations as they note strong progress towards their medium-term guidance.
IMI Group says their CFO Daniel Shook is to step down “no later than May 2025” for family reasons.
Metro Bank have confirmed the sale of their £2.5bn residential portfolio to NatWest.
NatWest reported that their H1 profit fell by a less than expected 16% to £3bn, with margin hits by mortgage competition and savers shifting deposits to higher-paying products.
Rightmove reiterates their FY 2024 guidance as they continue to expect revenue growth of 7-9% for FY 2024.
