Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +13 points at 8,282. The UK 100 looks set to open slightly higher this morning, having finished yesterday session in the red.

On Wall Street yesterday The S&P added 0.21% to 5,809.86 to break a three-day run of losses. The Nasdaq jumped 0.76% and closed at 18,415.49. The Dow Jones dropped 140.59 points, or 0.33%, to end at 42,374.36.

boohoo this morning said it is addressing recent propositions from Frasers Group regarding board representation and CEO appointments, the company clarified misconceptions about its debt refinancing, asserting its stability supported by existing banks. boohoo advises shareholders to refrain from taking immediate action on Frasers’ proposals, with interim results expected in November.

 

NatWest reported a 25% rise in third quarter profit after a better than expected performance against intense competition in the mortgage market and falling interest rates that are squeezing lending margins. reporting a pretax operating profit for the July-September period of £1.7bn ($2.20 billion), up from £1.3bn a year earlier and beating the £1.5bn expected by analysts.
