Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -27 points at 8,171. The UK 100 looks set to open lower this morning, this comes despite strong showings Stateside from Mega-Cap’s Tesla & Nvidia, both rising 5% on the day helping the S&P 500 index to finish 1.1% higher.  The Nasdaq lifted 1.6% and the Dow Jones rose by 0.3%, however cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike fell another 13% after Friday’s IT outage. Asian markets this morning struggled to consolidate a strong start, with the Hang Seng now trading 0.6% lower.

Beazley confirms no change to current guidance following the global IT outage.

 

Compass Group have raised their 2024 profit and revenue forecasts for the second time this year despite easing prices, after new business helped it beat Q3 revenue expectations. They now expect their underlying operating profit to grow above 15% and organic revenue above 10% for the fiscal year ending September. They reported a 10.3% rise in organic revenue for the quarter, ahead of analysts’ expectations of a 9.5% rise.

 

Mitie Group says they are on track to deliver high-single digit revenue growth for the year.
