The UK 100 called to open +1 point at 7,653. UK 100 is set to open flat on Friday ahead of UK retail sales data this morning. The US ended mixed with the Dow closing +0.5%, S&P -0.7% and Nasdaq -2.1%. In Asia the Nikkei closed -0.6%, Shanghai -0.2% and Hong Kong +0.4%.
Close Brothers reports strong H2 from loan book, net interest margin and stable credit in banking. They expect continued earnings growth in cost efficiency and capital optimisation.
FirstGroup says YTD trading is in line with expectations.
Glencore report that their FY production guidance is unchanged, weighted to H2 for copper, zinc and nickel.
Liontrust Asset Management confirms offer for GAM Holdings is “full and final” will not be increased.
Jefferies Upgrades Hargreaves Lansdown to Buy from Underperform (6 Buys / 5 Holds / 4 Sells)
