Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -30 points at 7,469.  The UK 100 looks set to open lower once more, as investors continue to contemplate interest rate concerns and worries over the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.  US markets closed down sharply after Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell left the door ajar for a further interest rate increase.  The Dow Jones shed 250.91 points, or 0.75%, to end at 33,414.17. The S&P dropped 0.85% to 4,278, while the Nasdaq finished 0.96% lower at about 13,186.  Data out this morning shows Retail sales across Great Britain have fallen by more than expected last month, underlying the drop in consumer confidence flagged by GfK also this morning.
