Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +3 points at 8,113.  The UK 100 looks set to steady for the open today having seen a turbulent past 48 hours for the index since Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ budget announcement.

 

Stateside the S&P dropped 1.86% to finish at 5,705.45. The Nasdaq giving up even more, loosing 2.76% to close at 18,095.15. Both indexes posted their biggest one-day declines since Sept. 3. The Dow Jones outperformed, still dropping 378.08 points, or 0.9%, to end at 41,763.46.

 

US futures have risen overnight thanks in main to strong number outputs from Amazon and Intel, rising 6 & 7 percent respectively in after-hours trading.

 

Focus today will be on UK PMI data out at 9.30am and the latest Non-Farm Payrolls read at 12.30pm (1 hour earlier than usual due to the clocks changing)
