Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -11 points at 7,700.  The UK 100 is called marginally lower ahead of the open today with US markets closed for the day for the Presidents day holiday.  This comes after a strong session for the UK blue chip index on Friday, which saw a three-figure increase.  In Asia, this morning, the Hang Seng index was 0.9% lower but the Shanghai Composite has reopened following the new year holiday with an improvement of 1.6%.
