Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -10 points at 8,428.  The UK 100 looks set to open slightly lower this morning ahead of what is set to be a fairly placid day of Macro data. Yesterday Stateside saw the Dow Jones close slightly lower after briefly jumping above 40,000 for the first time, the 30-stock Dow ended the day down 38.62 points, or 0.1%, closing at 39,869.38. The S&P fell 0.21%, closing at 5,297.10. The Nasdaq finished the day lower by 0.26%, ending at 16,698.32.

GSK completes the sale of all 385.3m Haleon shares at 324p each, totalling 1.25bn shares for total proceeds of £3.9bn.

 

Land Securities posted a narrower annual loss, driven by encouraging rental growth and occupancy levels, while elevated interest rates continue to weigh on the valuation of its buildings. The value of their buildings (ERPA Net Tangible Assets) fell 8% to 859p for the year ended March 31st.
