Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +54 points at 7,727.  The UK 100 is expected to open higher after strong gains in the US on Thursday after economic data suggested the FED may pause on rates and better-than-expected economic data in China.  China’s retail sales and industrial production grew faster than expected in August, data showed on Friday, in a boost after policymakers stepped up stimulus measures to support the world’s second-biggest economy.  On Wall Street yesterday all three major indices ended in the green, with the Dow Jones added 1.0%, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite both rose 0.8%.
