The UK 100 called to open +50 points at 7,490. The UK 100 looks set to open higher this morning after data showed UK inflation has fallen to a two-year low. The consumer price index dropped to 4.6% in October, down from 6.7% in September, and below City expectations for a fall to 4.7%. This follows on from yesterday’s US CPI read which also saw inflation fall leading to a bumper day on Wall Street, The Dow Jones jumped 489.83 points, or 1.43%, to end at 34,827.70. The S&P rallied 1.91%, briefly trading above the key 4,500 level, to settle at 4,495.70. It was the best day since April for the broad-market index. The Nasdaq jumped 2.37% to close at 14,094.38.
Diversified Energy Company report a Q3 adjusted EBITDA of $140m with an adjusted EBITDA margin of 52%. Their average net daily production came in at 134.0 Mboepd with a September exit rate of 134.4 Mboepd. Their Q3 dividend was unchanged YoY at 4.375 US cents per share.
Experian reported an increase in their HY profit as they benefited from sustained key demand in key markets in North America and Europe. They posted benchmark earnings before interest and tax of $928m, compared with $873m in the same period last year.
Ninety One reports a H1 pretax profit of £104m, down 6% from £110.6m. They expect the market to stay cautious through FY, but state that they can regain growth.
SSE have reaffirmed their guidance for FY23/24 with more than 150p adjusted earnings per share.
