The UK 100 called to open +12 points at 7,759. The UK 100 looks set to extend yesterday’s gains when it reopens this morning as UK GDP figure came out in line with expectations, showing the economy had grown and bounced back from its recession. On Wall Street yesterday, The Dow gained 235.83 points, or 0.61%, to close at 39,005.49. The S&P ticked up 1.12% to finish the session at 5,175.27, surpassing the previous record high close from March 7. The Nasdaq advanced 1.54% to 16,265.64.
Anglo American says De Beers cycle 2 2024 rough diamond sales amounted to $430m at March 12th.
Balfour Beatty reports a 2023 pretax profit of £244m, down from £287m in 2022. Their order book stands at £16.5bn, down from £17.4bn YoY as they expect growth in their earnings-based businesses in 2024 on strong order book. They are confident in their ability to generate cash for significant shareholder returns. They hiked their final dividend by 10% to 11.5p up from 10.5p previously.
