Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +10 points at 8,353.  The UK 100 looks set to open higher this morning, after Nvidia put out better-than-expected quarterly earnings, setting out a reasonable forecast for the current quarter.

Yesterday on Wall Street, the Nasdaq fell 1.12% to close at 17,556.03, while the S&P slipped 0.6% to end at 5,592.18. The Dow Jones lost 159.08 points, or 0.39%, settling at 41,091.42.

Grafton this morning reported operating profit of £83.1m beating Bloomberg estimate of £81.7m. Stating weaker market conditions outside Ireland. Expectations expected to be inline with forecast. Declared a new £30m share buyback.

 

Gulf Keystone delivered Half Year numbers this morning, stating the company remains focused on maximising local sales while Turkey-Iraq pipeline remains shut. No mention of any further capital returns on top of $25m previously set out.
