Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +15 points at 8,186.  The UK 100 looks set to open modestly higher this morning as UK voters head to the polls, extending yesterdays gains.   The S&P rose to new highs in Wednesday’s shortened trading session as investors appeared to shrug off sluggish economic data.  The broad market index added 0.51%, closing at 5,537.02. The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.88%, ending the session at 18,188.30, as megacap technology names such as Tesla and Nvidia rallied. Both indexes touched fresh all-time highs in the session and closed at records. The Dow Jones lost 23.85 points, or 0.06%, to end at 39,308.00.  US markets will be closed today for Independence day.

Company News:

3i Infrastructure have continued to outperform in Q1, winning notable new contracts.

 

Assura says that they have delivered on their strategic objectives in the first 3 months of their FY and they are well-placed to help support the NHS and the wider healthcare market. Their June 30th portfolio annualised rent roll came in at £149.2m vs £150.6m in March.

 

Spectris are to acquire SciAps Inc for up to £205m – £157m upfront plus £47m in deferred payments.

 

Victrex maintains their FY volume forecast as their Q3 volume increased 20% and their net debt stood at £39.6m. Their FY volume guidance remains unchanged.
