Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +29 points at 8,212. UK 100 is called to open higher this morning as the UK’s Q1 growth was revised upwards to 0.7% (from 0.6%) by ONS. In focus today is the US Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index data at 1:30pm a key gauge for inflation. It is one of the major data points that the Fed reviews closely when deciding their interest rate policy. In the US the Dow closed higher +0.1% and Nasdaq +0.3%. Asia were similar overnight as Shanghai closed higher +1.3%, Hang Seng +0.6% and Tokyo +0.4%.
