Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -12 points at 8,179.  The UK 100 looks set to open slightly lower this morning, this comes despite this mornings inflation read, with the rate of inflation falling to the 2% target set out by the Bank of England, core inflation also softened from 3.9% in April to 3.5% in May.  The pound has risen slightly on the back of this against the US Dollar.

Company News:

Berkeley Group Holdings have lifted their earnings outlook by 5% for 2025 and said that the current lack of urgency in the housing market was likely to remain until the start in reduction of interest rates. Their pretax profit for the year ended April 30th came in at £557.3m, down 8% YoY and above analysts’ average expectations of £549.5m.

 

Games Workshop Group says their FY24 pretax profit is to be no less than £200m, up from £171m.

 

Vodafone sells 484.7m shares in Indus Towers, raising 1.7bn euros in order to repay lenders.
