Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -62 points at 8,183.  The UK 100 looks set to open lower this morning, This follows on from Asian markets tumbling overnight as concerns the US would not cut rates until later this year were felt across the globe, with the MSCI’s broadest index of Asian-Pacific stocks tumbling 0.33%.  Also weighing on markets this morning was the news thatFrench president Emmanuel Macron called a snap election after suffering a heavy defeat in the European Parliament votes.

AstraZeneca’s supplemental new drug application for Tagrisso has been granted priority review in the US.

 

Chemring signs a 15-year agreement with Northrop Grumman to supply material for missiles. They have received $83m in orders of HMX from Northrop Grumman.

 

GSK: The FDA has approved the expanded use of their respiratory and syncytial virus vaccine in adults aged 50-59, making it the first shot endorsed for that age group.
