The UK 100 called to open -20 points at 7,915. The UK 100 looks set to open lower this morning as Asian markets followed the major US indices lower overnight, as investors worried that the Fed may delay cutting interest rates, however two Fed officials yesterday suggested that the previously expected three rate cuts this year would be “reasonable”, focus will turn to a raft of Fed speakers today, most notably Fed Chair Jerome Powell and to US services PMI data due out later today. On Wall Street, The S&P, Nasdaq, and Dow Jones all experienced declines. The S&P dropped by 0.72 per cent to close at 5,206.04 points, while the Nasdaq fell by 0.95 per cent to 16,240.45. Similarly, the Dow Jones saw a 1.0 per cent drop, settling at 39,171.55.
Hilton Food Group raised it dividend payout after pretax profit jumped last year on a quicker-than-anticipated recovery in its seafood business. They reported this morning that its pretax profit increased to 48.6 million pounds ($61.1 million) in 2023 from GBP29.6 million in 2022, driven by a strong result in its U.K. and Ireland segment as a recovery in its U.K. seafood business was delivered ahead of plan.
Ryanair carried 13.6 million passengers, last month, up 8%, with its planes 93% full.
Wizz Air this morning announced that they had carried 4.8m passengers in March and increase of 12% YoY
