Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -6 points at 7,548.  The UK 100 is expected to edge lower this morning ahead of a busy week for central bank decisions.  The Federal Reserve announces its final rate decision of the year on Wednesday with the Bank of England and European Central Bank following on Thursday.  The S&P rose on Friday to hit a new high for the year after the November jobs report and University of Michigan consumer survey data signalled a resilient economy and cooling inflation, fuelling hopes for a so-called soft landing scenario.  The S&P added 0.41% to settle at 4,604.37, while the Nasdaq, rose 0.45% to finish at 14,403.97. The Dow Jones gained 130.49 points, or 0.36%, to end at 36,247.87.
