Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +22 points at 7,534.  The UK 100 is expected to make a bright start on Friday ahead of a key print on the US jobs market.  All eyes will be on today’s Non-Farm payroll report, which will give further clues ahead for the direction of interest rates ahead of next week’s Federal Reserve meeting, consensus is that the read will see a rise to 180,000 last month, from 150,000 in October.  Stocks rose on Wall Street Thursday, allowing the Dow Jones and S&P to break three-day losing streaks. The broad S&P 500 climbed 0.80% to 4,585.59, while the blue-chip Dow added 62.95 points, or 0.17%, to 36,117.38. The Nasdaq advanced 1.37% to 14,339.99 as technology stocks outperformed.  It was more mixed in Asia this morning, the Nikkei was 1.7% lower after data showed the Japanese economy contracted by 0.7% in the third quarter, revising a preliminary estimate that it shrank 0.5%.
