Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +13 points at 7,487.   The UK 100 looks set to open higher once again this morning.  This comes after the S&P advanced Wednesday for a four-day winning run.  The broad-market index climbed 0.38%, surpassing the 4,500 level, to close at 4,514.87. The Dow Jones added 37.57 points or 0.11%, to finish the session at 34,890.24. The tech-heavy Nasdaq advanced 0.54% to 14,019.31.  Asian markets were mixed with gains in Tokyo and falls in Hong Kong and China.

Grafton report a H1 pretax profit of £93.6m down from £132.4m YoY. They have increased their interim H1 dividend to 10p (up from 9.25p YoY) and have announced a further share buyback programme of up to £50m ending before Jan 31st 2024.

 

 

Marks & Spencer returns to the UK 100 as Johnson Matthey & Persimmon exit to the UK 250.
