The UK 100 called to open -6 points at 7,332. UK 100 is set to open slightly lower on Friday as global markets take into account the prospect of “higher-for-longer” interest rates in the US. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s keynote speech at the Jackson Hole meeting is taking place at 3:05pm this afternoon. Wall Street struggled yesterday as the Dow closed -1.1%, S&P -1.4% and Nasdaq -1.9%. Over In Asia this morning Tokyo closed -2%, Shanghai -0.7% and Hong Kong -1.2%.
DWF Group report a pretax profit of £17.2m, down 23% from £22.3m YoY.
Petra Diamonds first tender of FY24 yielded $79.3m from 696,194 carats sold.
