Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +17 point at 7,546.  The UK 100 looks set to start the final trading session of the week on the front foot, following yesterdays 0.25% interest rate rise from the Bank of England.  On Wall Street yesterday the S&P 500 fell 0.25% to finish at 4,501.89, while the Dow Jones lost 66.63 points, or 0.19% to end at 35,215.89. The Nasdaq Composite inched down 0.1% to 13,959.72.

Telecom Plus says their strong performance has continued as energy price volatility eases and they expect to deliver “comfortable double-digit” customer growth in their FY.

 

 

WPP have downgraded their FY L-f-L growth forecast to 1.5-3.0% from 3.5%, after lower spending from tech clients have caused its revenue to decline in Q2. They reported a H1 pretax profit of £204m.
