Thomas Cook (TCG.L) – 49% jump in full-year operating profit. (EBIT), excluding exceptional items, of £263m vs. forecast of £251m. Revenues rose 1.3% to £9.32bn. Raised its cost cutting target to £440m after identifying a further £40m of savings. Closing Price 152.80p (Reuters)
Rio Tinto (RIO.L) – unveiled plans to increase its mine capacity to 350m tn by 2017, cutting costs by $3bn. Rio Tinto said it it would focus on expanding existing mines, adding 60m tn a year between 2014 and 2017 from a base rate of 290m tn a year. It approved $400m of capital spending for plant equipment and modification. Closing Price 3139.00p (Reuters)
Pennon Group (PNN.L) – Interim dividend up 7.2p to 9.39p p/sh. Profit before tax up 3.5% to £110.9m. Closing Price 638.00p (Reuters)
