Bellway (BWY.L) – Government Help to Buy scheme has been used to reserve 830 homes since its launch, and legally completed the sale of 5652 homes which was an increase of 8.2%. Average selling price of homes increases 3%. Operating margin and housing revenue increase. Closing price 1477p. (Reuters)

Rio Tinto Ltd (RIO.L) – First half underlying earnings of $4.2bn.  Increases H1 dividend by 15% to $0.835 per share . Net earnings of $1.7 bn, Net earnings of $1.7 billion include non-cash exchange losses of $1.9 billion and a $0.3 billion write-off of waste stripping costs and damaged equipment. Closing Price 2953.50p (Reuters)

Standard Life PLC (SL.L) – Posted a 6% rise in H1 operating profits, boosted by stronger financial markets and rising demand for its savings and investment products. Closing Price 387.40p (Reuters)

Aviva (AV.L) – Posted a 5% rise in operating profits as rising sales in key markets offset weakness in southern European operations. Closing Price 370.80p (Reuters)

Ladbrokes (LAD.L) – Hit by weaker returns from UK betting shops with operating profit sliding almost 20% in H1. Has been slow in building share of ever growing online market. Closing price 207.7p. (Reuters)

Savills (SVS.L) – Group revenue up 13% to £399M (H1 2012: £353.3M). Underlying group profit before tax up 40% to £26M (H1 2012: £18.6M). Currently see no change in the overall outlook for our business. Closing Price 630p (Reuters)

Schroders (SDR.L) – First-half pretax profit surged 29% to £228M from £177.4 M a year earlier. Net inflows came in at £4.5BN, and combined with rising markets this lifted assets under management to £235.7BN, a 21% rise from the £194.6BN reported a year earlier. Increasing its interim dividend by 23% to 16p per share. Closing Price 2501p (Reuters)
