Thomas Cook (TCG.L) – Swung to a third quarter profit, helped by further costs cuts and robust summer trade. EBITDA rose to £1M in the three months to July compared to the £45M loss it reported in the same period a year ago. Closing Price 153.6p (Reuters)

Royal Dutch Shell (RDSB.L) – Took a $700M hit in second quarter profits for continuing oil thefts and disruption to its Nigeria operations and for the tax impact of a weakening Australian dollar. The impact was included in Shell’s adjusted second quarter net earnings on a current cost of supply basis, which came in at $4.6BN, down from $5.7BN a year ago and below analysts’ expectations. Lloyds Banking Group (LLOY.L) – Underlying profit up by 26%, £2.9bn vs. 2.34bn expected. Pretax profit £2,13bn. H1 statutory profit 2.13bn vs. £456m loss last year. Costs reduced by 6%, Fully loaded Core tier 1 ratio of 9.6%. Considering restarting dividend. Closing Price 68.47p (Bloomberg)
