Sports Direct International (SPD.L) – Reported profit before tax up 40.0% to £207.2m. Like-for-like stores gross contribution increased by 11.2%. Underlying profit before tax £208.1m. Exceeded the second underlying EBITDA target of £250m. Trading is ahead of management’s expectations for the first quarter. Closing Price 600.50p (Reuters)

Anglo American (AAL.L) – Posted a better than expected 14% rise in copper production in the Q2.. Iron ore production from its Kumba Iron Ore <KIOJ.J> unit fell 1% to 11.3m tn. . Platinum production edged 2% higher to 594,000 ounces. Half-year earnings to be reported on July 26th. Closing Price 1357.00p (Reuters)

The London Stock Exchange (LSE.L) –  Q1 revenues rose 39% to £249.7m, beating analyst forecasts, thanks in part to its acquisition of a London clearing house earlier this year. The LSE acquired a majority stake in LCH.Clearnet in May. Revenues up 8%. The figure beat a consensus of £233.4m. Well placed to build on a positive start to its financial year. Sirius Minerals (SXX.L) – Requested North York moors national park authority to defer determination of potash mining application. Deferral is specifically to allow the company time to address issues relating to European habitat legislation. Deferral is likely to extend the project timeframe. Closing Price 21.50p (Reuters)

Bumi (BUMI.L) – Announced it has signed a sale and purchase agreement to sell its 29.2% stake in Jakarta-listed Bumi Resources to the Bakrie family for $501mln in cash. Closing Price 259.30p (Reuters)
