The 3 Things That are Still Buoying UK 100 companies

UK Index 100 companies

It would seem the challenging start to the year is well and truly behind us now with the UK 100  index up 800+ points from the lows seen in February. We still can’t ignore fairy tale moves in UK 100 companies like Anglo American (+230%) and Glencore (+100%) over the same time frame. In terms of equity indices, the Dow Jones is currently within 2.5% of the record highs it made last year. It seems investors have risen with aplomb to Q1’s challenges!

So what is going on in the markets this week?

  • Commodities are still benefitting from a weaker dollar and an apparent shift in Chinese sentiment
  • Oil is still rallying having shrugged off concerns  after the ‘No deal’ in Doha last weekend
  • Bargain hunting continues for stocks near multiyear lows, while yet more stocks are making new all-time highs!

There really is something for everyone in this market. What’s in it for you? To find out, sign up now to our free, no-nonsense research to see how clients of Accendo Markets get the information they need on a daily, even hourly basis.

Banks will no doubt be a hot topic next week as they pick up the baton from the clean sweep of results stateside. With 6 out of 6 major US banks beating analysts’ forecasts on earnings, will the UK’s own follow suit?

They’re unlikely to steal all the limelight though, as we also have a swathe of other major UK 100  companies set to announce results next week – including BP, Rio Tinto, GSK, AstraZeneca, IAG, Whitbread, Taylor Wimpey and many more. That’s a lot to keep track of, but rest assured we’ve got your back.

So you see there’s plenty for traders of all shapes and sizes to get excited about right now – it’s a rare occasion we get to make the most of so many potentially big moves. With us you’ll get the results when the markets do, not the following day when everyone else does, so you’ll be in the best possible position to place great trades. Get ahead of the game and sign up now!
