Vodafone Group (VOD.L) – Verizon Communications (VZ.N) is in advanced talks to buy Vodafone’s 45% stake in their U.S. joint venture for about $130bn, Bloomberg reported late on Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Closing Price 189.30p (Reuters)

Evraz (EVR.L) – Posted H1 net loss of $122m, in line with analyst expectations, attributing the loss to weak prices for steel. Revenue fell 3% to $7.4bn, while EBITDA fell 21% to $939m. No interim dividend for the first half of 2013. Closing Price 124.70p (Reuters)

Melrose Industries (MRO.L) – H1 revenue £1.02bn vs. £466.2m year earlier. H1 operating profit £165m. Profit before tax of £139.4m vs. £65.9m in H1 2012. Interim dividend of 2.75p p/sh, up 6%. Order books are still reflecting the uncertainty of the last few years. Closing Price 284.40p (Reuters)
