Anglo American (AAL.L) – Iron ore production rose by 25% to 11.3m tns in Q4. Copper output also rose 24% to a quarterly record of 214,400 tns. Equivalent refined platinum production increased by 25% to 520,300 ounces in Q4 as a result of an increase in production. Closing Price 1343.50p (Reuters)
Antofagasta (ANTO.L) – Cash costs for this year would be in line with 2013. It beat its guidance of 700,000 tns with 721,200 tns of copper. The miner produced 293,800 ounces of gold, beating forecasts of 280,000 ounces. Closing Price 822.50p (Reuters)
Mulberry (MUL.L) & Burberry (BRBY.L) – Mulberry warned its annual profit would be substantially below market forecasts after heavy discounting over Christmas hurt its UK sales and its wholesale business was hit by order cancellations Total retail sales for the 17 weeks to Jan. 25 were 3% below a year ago. It added that significant order cancellations from Korean customers meant it expected FY wholesale sales to be 10% down on a year ago. Analysts had been expecting Mulberry to post a pretax profit of £26.9m for the FY to the end of March. Closing Prices 899.50p & 1473.00p respectively (Reuters)
Britvic (BVIC) – On track to hit FY profit targets. Q1 revenue increased by 2.8%. Closing Price 701.00p (Reuters)
Lloyds (LLOY.L) – Pushed the button on its £1.5bn-plus float of TSB after rejecting an 11th-hour approach from a group of institutional investors. TSB’s management, led by chief executive Paul Pester, has begun meeting potential investors to ask them to back the pending flotation of the 631-branch business. Closing Price 82.85p (Telegraph)
