SSE (SSE.L) & Centrica (CNA.L) – British regulators referred Britain’s energy supply sector for a full anti-trust investigation, kick starting a legal process that could see some of the country’s big suppliers being broken up. Closing Price 1518p & 323.10p respectively (Reuters)

Afren (AFR.L) – Profit before tax falls 44% to £318m from £569m. Gross profit falls 19% to £643m from £791m. Targeting double digit growth in net production over the next five years. Closing Price 150.80p (Reuters)

 Serco Group Plc (SRP.L) – Signed a 22-month interim franchise agreement to continue operating northern rail franchise on behalf of UK department for transport until Feb 2016. Total revenue from operating service over 22-month franchise is estimated at £520m. Closing Price 418 (Reuters).

Compass (CPG.L) – 6.2% impact or £78m on 2013 FY underlying profit if current spot rates continue. Expectations for the FY remain positive and unchanged. Negative currency impact of 5.9%, or £1,029m on  2013 FY reported revenues if current spot rates continue in H2. Closing Price 929.00p (Reuters)

Thomas Cook (TCG.L) – Summer 2014 bookings up 50%, slightly higher year on year. Sees an improving trend for summer holidays since it reported Q1 results, with overall bookings up 2%. Closing Price 181.40p (Bloomberg)
