Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS.L) – Part-nationalised British lender RBS has been accused by a government advisor of pushing struggling small firms into its turnaround unit so it can charge higher fees and take control of their assets. Closing Price 330.10p (Reuters)
Babcock International (BAB.L) – Is in exclusive discussions to take a stake in helicopter transport services company Avincis, a source close to the situation said on Sunday. Closing Price 1325.00p (Reuters)
Lloyds Banking Group (LLOY.L) – will probably sell 30-50% of its stake in the 631 bank branches being rebranded as TSB when the new entity floats on the stock market in 2014. Lloyds was ordered to sell the branches by European regulators as a penalty for receiving a £20bn government bailout in the 2008 financial crisis. Closing Price 74.62 (Reuters)
Quintain Estates and Development (QED.L) – H1 profit falls over 30% YoY. Closing Price 93.50p. (Reuters)
Randgold Resources (RRS.L) & Fresnillo (FRES.L) – Gold price fell as low as $1,225 overnight, the lowest level since July, after Iran agreed to curtail nuclear activities. Closing Prices 4362.00p and 840.50p respectively. (Bloomberg).
