WH Smith (SMWH.L) – Total sales were down 4% with lfl sales also down 4. High street performed in line with our expectations, with total sales down 7% and lfl sales down 6%. The Sage Group (SGE.L) Trading across all Regions remains in-line with expectations. Mainland Europe, the improved performance in the second half of 2013 was maintained in the first quarter of 2014. BHP Billiton (BLT.L) – 16% rise in iron ore production in the quarter on a year earlier to 48.9m tns guidance for fiscal 2014 was maintained at 212m tns. 4% decline in petroleum but maintained its fiscal 2014 guidance of 250m barrels of oil equivalent. Closing Price 1854.50p (Reuters)
